Dr. Julie J. Johnson is Vice President of Strategy for Complete College America. She brings a strong background in higher education administration and policy at the institutional, state and federal level. Dr. Johnson has served as Managing Director of Education for the Strayer@Work group of Strayer Education, where she also served as the Executive Director and Dean of Community Colleges. In her role as Deputy CEO for the University of the District of Columbia Community College, she helped launch a new community college and championed efforts on student success, strategic development, partnerships, dual enrollment, and operations.
Dr. Johnson’s research is on the community college student experience in developmental education. She has taught at the secondary, undergraduate and graduate level. She contributes to her local community through her role as Vice Chair of the Board for Maya Angelou Public Charter School in Washington DC. Dr. Johnson received her Ed.D. in Educational Policy Studies from The George Washington University and an Ed.M. in Higher Education from Harvard University. She received her B.A. in English from Azusa Pacific University and studied in an honors program at Keble College, Oxford University.
