43,107 families told us how they're thinking about money, value, and your institution.

We have even more insights from 43,107 college families to hone your engagement strategy. Volume 2 digs into financial aid confusion, ROI perception, and what's actually driving family connections (and giving!) to your school.

Some top takeaways:

  • Paying for college is a struggle for the majority of families. 57% say funding their student's education will be difficult — and nearly three in four can't make sense of the financial aid information they're given.

  • Low satisfaction with financial aid communication leads to more than frustration. Families that struggle to access clear information are significantly less likely to see tuition as a worthwhile investment.

  • The connection opportunity is bigger than most institutions realize. A third of families feel more connected to their student's college than to their own alma mater. Nearly 40% want to be more involved — and current engagement options aren't meeting that demand.

  • There's also a giving signal hiding in plain sight. 22% of families say they're more likely to donate to their student's institution than to their own — a stat Advancement teams can't afford to ignore.
